OK, solved the problem. or at least a symptom of the problem.
I found this page and started going through the process.

From reading it, it looked like it was a safety switch problem of some kind. So, I started with the ones that were the easiest to get to(it is never them is it?) Then I found a tiny switch. Then I found it on the page, and it stated

So, I felt around in there for a button and "CLICK" it engaged. I turned on the power and heard the sweet sound of the clickety spark.
