BTW. LazyPup's suggestions are not applicable to the design of freezer you have which uses a 'static' condenser up the back of the appliance. They don't usually get plugged and there is no forced air for it.

I believe the fan is running properly, and to check the light I would just depress the plunger switch.
It had a cover inside the freezer - is there anything to check inside the freezer after this is removed?
