20 feet would
probably be Ok but will depend on the exact model of dryer you have and how many elbows will be in the vent ducting (see the following link). Check the product's installation instructions.

Of course, the shorter the venting the better. Both for dryer operation and vent cleaning maintenance which should be done at least yearly.
