the only "tip" that I can offer is one I learned the hard way when replacing a water heater over the weekend. That is: If making connections using PVC piping and pressure-rated couplings, use some big wrenches and really crank those things tight. If they're not tight enough, then they'll come loose and spray water all over your closet and all over the contents therein. The fill lines will pump out gallons of water until you make it to the water main to cut off the supply.

That's right.... in no time at all I had standing water in my bedroom closet..........talk about a huge mess and a lousy weekend.... beware that sometimes these DIY projects can go horribly awry.
