Read the printed specifications printed on the pipe wall. Per ASTM (American Society of Testing & Materials) PVC pipe has a maximum safe working temperature of 73degF.

Not only is 73degF less than 60% of the code maximum 125degF temperature for potable hot water distribution within a structure it is also well below the ambient room temperatures that may be found in mid summer in a structure without AC or when water lines are run overhead through an attic space.

For this reason PVC is approved for potable water "Supply" lines (direct buried lines from the municipal main or home well to the structure) but it is prohibited for Potable water "Distribution" lines (water lines within a structure).

For water distribution lines within a structure you may use Galvanized Iron Pipe, Brass pipe, Copper Pipe & Copper Tubing, CPVC pipe & Tubing and in most jurisdiction you may now use PEX & PEX-AL-PEX (check local code for PEX).
