if you have room between two walls where your sink is now, a couple of 1X3 stringers fastened to the sides of the wall will support a 3/4" plywood top. this you could face with formica or tile if you wish. Then just extend the sides down and cut a door opening in one piece of plywood and if you cut the opening accurately, use the cut out as a flush door. you can get special flush hinges at rockler dot com.
