Recessed Lights-removing/replacing bulbs

I seem to remember coming across a thread where someone stated they were having issues removing/replacing their light bulbs in their recessed cans. I'm having the same issue, and I seem to remember someone saying that it is possible to apply a little bit of vasoline on the end of the bulb so it would be easier to remove and replace the bulbs. Does this sound right? I wanted to get some input and find out if I was dreaming or if someone actually suggested it. Thanks in advance.
