It is seldom advisable to cut concrete to fit in a shower stall or shower base, especially in a basement situation.
Use mortar to build up the lower end it is always advisable to use a mortar base under all shower stalls and shower stall bases.
Do not use foam, it will compress over time and allow the shower base to settle lower.
