Icemaker unlikely to be problem

There is nothing the icemaker could be responsible for that would cause ice cubes to not be solid so the answer is no, replacing the icemaker is unlikely to be the answer.

Some clarification is needed however. What exactly do you mean by "not solid"? only partially frozen (eg. some ice, some water) or forming hollow??
