OK, I removed the black cylinder trap after disconnecting 2 hoses and cleaned it up very well, I reconnected the hoses . nothing new happened, then I removed the front cover of the burner box and restarted the furnace. the inducer motor started, I heard the ticking sound and the pilot light came on, I covered the burner box and the flames ignited and I had heat blowing.....but only for a minute or two and then the flames went out ,also the pilot light, but the inducer motor kept running. I read in one post with a similar problem that it might have to do with the intake pipe blockage. where is the intake pipe and how do I clean it?. also, after reconnecting the black trap cylinder, should I have filled it with water first???
