what you have is a hot surface igniter. it is a loop of a carbon type material that glows when a current is sent through it. it has a definite resistance when it is cold and changes as it heats up. once this resistance is verified by the electronics, the main valve will open. a hot surface igniter cost about 42 bucks. I seem to recall a similar posting with similar problems about two months ago. the guy changed out the computer board and everything worked.
