Dishwasher doesn't use both sides of soap dispense
I have a kitchenaid dishwasher that won't clean out (or use)the soap dispenser with the door. I have even left it completely and halfway open and soap is still there at the end of the drying cycle. The other side is cleaned out fine but it seems like it is missing a cleaning cycle but since it will go thru the entire run, I am not sure where the missing cycle is. Thanks for any help....

I had same problem. I bought a new bimetal switch for Sears service center and installed to no avail. Inside the panel of the dishwasher I found a service repair manual! Anyhow I fixed the problem by taking a steel brush and cleaning the filter screen located at the bottom of the dishwasher, it was full of crude. After that the soap dispenser popped open.
