whirlpool dryer

My drier just recently messed up. The heating element works fine, but the motor doesn't work at all not even any noise. You can turn the motor by hand freely when it turns the tumblers turns so the belt should be fine. Does somebody have any suggestions.

Aaron,
Is there an electrical diagram? Do you have a Multimeter?
If you are comfortable making measurements, you can determine if power is getting to the motor and if so.. disconnecting motor leads and measuring motor winding resistance. A caution: Dangerous voltages exist and also don't leave power on longer than a few seconds because it's a strain on the heating element not having the blower on. You might disconnect the heater and tape up the end. (There should be a thermal cutout but this still allows the element to get hotter than normal)
I'm not familiar with this dryer but from picture:
It looks like motor is replaced as an assembly including cap or starter. So if power is there and connections are not corroded then I think new motor...about 80 to 100 bucks.
If no power at motor then you will need to trace back to switches and controls. There is a thermal fuse that is a common fail but I don't know if that would allow power to heat element if it blew. You should check it anyway. Probably located on the blower housing in the back or possibly behind the front kickplate. Good luck!
Hopefully someone else can add to this.

sounds like a bad centrifugal switch. The heater isn't supposed to get any current till the motor is at speed.
Sears might have the replacement parts for the motor. I can remember there being a repair kit, back when.
