Water Backup

Has anyone ever heard of a Garbage Disposal causing a backup?.. I recently replaced an old disposal with a Badger 1/3 horse and am having this issue

Backup where?
Dishwasher? Did you knock out the plug?

You recently replaced the disposal so i can think of two possibilities. One, when you installed the new disposal did you possibly overlook knocking out the plug on the dishwasher inlet? The second possibility is the dishwasher drain hose. The drain hose should be run from the dishwasher to a point under the cabinet that is higher than the disposal inlet, then down to the inlet. securing the line well above the inlet will form a trap preventing water from the sink entering the dishwasher by backfilling.
