I am trying to replace my 30 year old dishwasher and I cannot get it out of the cabinet!!! IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS! It looks like the installed the dishwasher first and then put 1/2 inch thick ceramic tile down!
I am trying to figure out a way to get this thing out hopefully without breaking the tile or taking off the countertop... any suggestions?
I was thinking about taking a reprocating saw and just cutting it in half...
Look down on the bottom of the frame behind the kick plate. You should see two screw down levelers that are about an inch long. They will look like a 1/4-20 bolt with a big flat head on the floor. You could try to screw them up into the dishwasher or just cut them off flush with the underside of the dishwaswher frame.
Open the door and you will see two metal tabs from the top of the doorframe that should be screwed to the cabinet facing. Remove those screws and the unit should fall down about an inch.
You should then be able to grip the top of the door frame and slide the dishwasher straight out.
