garbage disposal

placed some rice down the sink, and my water doesnt empty my garbage disposal work i think it seems like it runs. i cant get the water to go down what i do

I have seen this before. You have a clog in the drain line! Heres a trick you can try, Put the stopper in the disposal fill that side up with water, Turn on the disposal and pull the stopper. It should force the blockage down the drain. If that fails break out your plunger and go for it!
