Kenmore ice maker not working

Hi,
I have a Kenmore Coldspot side-by-side model #106.5824 2890 refridgerator. The ice maker has stop working. As far as I can tell, the trays won't fill up with water.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can try?

Thank,
Kate

Dan O. is an unknown quantity at this point
If just the ice mold is not filling with water, the fill tube that goes through the rear of the cabinet may have frozen closed and need to be thawed.

BTW. If that fill tube *repeatedly* freezes closed, there is usually a problem in the fridge's water supply which will need to be corrected in an attempt to permanently alleviate the condition.

JFYI

Thanks Dan,
I disconnected the water supply and took a hair dryer to it...still no water in the tray. The tubing on the back of the fridge has water in it. Is there something else I can try to get the water from the back tubing into the tray?

thanks

** Is there something else I can try to get the water from the back tubing into the tray? **

Water is forced up that tube and into the icemaker by house water pressure when the icemaker side of the water valve on the back of the fridge opens. If the tube going through the cabinet is not blocked, there may be a problem in the water valve on the back of the fridge or in the icemaker which switches power to the water valve.

You can read about how the water valves on appliances work at the first link below and see the replacement valve for your fridge at the second.
