Kenmoore frostless freezer not freezing

My freezer stopped freezing probably after our recent power outtages from Hurricane Isabel. The unit was made in 8/97 and was purchased sometime after that date in 97. There is power to the unit the evaporator is clean and cool. The compressor and high side line is very hot and the low side line is cool not cold. There are no schrader valves to put a guage on (134a). What do you think? Please help.
