GE Frontload washer won't turn on

Model # WSXH208A1WW

The slide out bin where you put the detergent(front left upper corner), the front cover sometimes detaches from the drawer where the detergent sits. The reason I mention this is because if the front cover, or face plate if you will, is not attached, the machine won't turn on. Fitting it on would always turn it on in the past, and I don't even think this is the problem now.

The machine won't turn on at all. Water won't start filling, no noise, nothing. Usually when I turn it on, the door will lock, the door lock light will come on, water will enter, etc. Not getting any of that now. The outlet is good, I tried plugging something else in. I also tried holding in the door switch to see if it will turn on, no dice.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

*I* would likely start by looking into your previous complaint more thoroughly even if you don't "think" this is the problem now. Maybe not correcting the previous problem lead to a more permanent failure? The only way to get to the bottom of problems is eliminating all possibilities *with certainty*.

You can see an exploded parts view of your washer model at the following link:

Other than that, a systematic evaluation of all other possibilities will be required to find the cause. There is no one single possibility for such a complaint that comes to mind. Sorry.

That doesn't necessarily mean power is getting to the washer. Power cords and their connections, do fail from time to time. Has anyone confirmed that power is indeed getting to the washer?

There should be a 'tech sheet' in a small pocket, pouch or envelope behind the lower access panel, taped to the under side of it or the side wall of the cabinet which might have some diagnostic procedures and will have the wiring diagram. Someone may need to trace the power route on the wiring on the diagram and check any components in-line which could result in your symptoms.
