low dishwasher water pressure

I noticed last night that the jets in my dishwasher are not shooting the water, it is just trickling out. When the washer is first started, the center tube rises and one big burst of water emits, but after that the tube retracts and the water just trickles. The washer worked fine the last time it was used a few days prior. Any ideas on the cause or where I should start the diagnostics. Thank you.
