Question Whirlpool Trash compactor "groaning"

New to this great forum and would appreciate a little guidance b4 I screw something up. Whirlpool #TF8500XLPO (has to be at least 25 yrs. old but still work well) starting to emit a groaning noise when compacting. Have taken out the tray and clean everything but no improvement. After looking at exploded dwg., I suspect the power bushings are worn out. How do I get to them and how to I check/change these out? Many thanks for ne assistance!
