Maytag Oven - control panel?

Maytag oven - model number CWE9030DDB. The buttons "CANCEL" and "SET" don't seem to work on the LCD display. As a result, you can't set the clock or turn on the oven. The other buttons "CLOCK", "SELF CLEAN", etc. work ok. Any idea what could be wrong, and how I could find out?

Thanks very much.

Cool yes, control panel

** Any idea what could be wrong **

It sounds like the control keypad is defective. On your model that keypad is only sold already attached to the control panel (see the following link) and not available separately.

** how I could find out? **

If the appliance's wiring diagram has a circuit matrix showing the contacts for the keypad's ribbon connector, it might be able to be verified. Unfortunately, manufacturers don't always supply the test points for those keypads in which case a technician just has to make his best assumption and hope for the best. There aren't many things however that could duplicate a keypad failure symptoms so it's usually a pretty safe bet.
