LER4634JQ1 Whirlpool problems

Help! Help! Help! I am renting a house currently with a Whirlpool model LER4634JQ1 electric dryer. The dryer does not seem to correlate to the high & low settings, even on "air fluff" it is hot. Also the dampness sensor is not consistent. Sometimes it works fairly well, mostly it doesn't work and will run for hours if not checked. Can anyone shep some light on what I might be able to do to correct this problem? I am very handy, just not when it comes to large appliances. Thanks in advance. Ed

Is there some reason you're not having the landlord look into it? I would think it would be his responsibility.

It should not heat at all on "air fluff". Maybe the heater element (see the following link) is broken and shorted to ground or there maybe is a problem with the heat selector switch?

I don't see any kind of "dampness sensor" used on your model dryer. Maybe you're just referring to an "auto" or "permanent press" setting?? You can read about the difference at the following link:

I would suggest someone look into why your dryer is heating on air fluff when it shouldn't be first and then worry about the rest. Some causes of that could be a potential fire hazard! Don't put it off!!
