Kenmore portable dishwasher not working

I have a 24" Kenmore ultrawash portable dishwasher, model no. 665 17762K600. It was working well, the door sometimes needed to be shut repeatedly to make it turn on, it felt like to mechanism in the lock was loose. The last time I tried to use it it did not come on at all until I hit the panel once and then it worked, although it turned off a few times when it was initiating. It felt like whenever it was moving more something would disconnect?? When I now tried it nothing happens at all, no lights come on on the panel. I can't afford to have Sears to come and check it out, does anyone have an idea what this could be? Thanks!

have you tried to take off the front cover to see if anything is not contacting the door lock switch?

It could be a problem with the door latching mechanism or door switch(es) or maybe even just loose wiring. Someone is going to have to actually investigate to determine the cause.
