Hi,
There is a overload safty switch that is built into
the motor.
If the motor gets to hot is kills the power to the
motor until it cools off again.
How old is the dryer?
Does it sound like it start hard?
Most of the time when the dryer overload starts cutting
out it's time for a new dryer motor.
You could take it apart and make sure nothing fell down
the lint trap chute and got down into the blower fan.
If something go down there it could have got around the
fan blade making it harder for the motor to turn.
To do this you would have to remove the back of the
dryer. Then remove the lint chute that the lint trap
slides into.
You could also check to see if the dryer motor has a
lot of lint built up on the motor itself causing it to
get hot.
You can check the motor from the front of the dryer.
Let me know what you find,
