OK, now that I have virtually every ceiling down in my house (except the room I live in now.. LOL) I can see the overhead wiring. The wiring is that sheilded type, I think it's called BX. I am wondering can I just lay insulation over it? It appears to be on good shape. No breaks in the armor, etc. I don't want to rewire the whole attic by the way. You know the "If it isn't broke, don't fix it" :)

BX is the metal jacketed cable, if that's what you have (or NM) then your okay to go ahead and lay insulation over it, under it or around it.
