How Low Can You Go?

We have a concrete patio off the back of pur house and would like to build a deck off the end of the patio. The question is that we would like the deck to be no more than one step up from the patio. The ground surrounding the patio is basically level so we have no elevation to play with. So the question is how low a deck can you build?

Thanks
Ken

PS did a search and did not find anything.

You can build a deck as low as you want. support the deck just as you would any deck.
To do it right begin with collums of cement extending below frost line and up to 8 inches below level of deck and build frame out of pressure treated or other rot resistant wood because lack of air movement under deck will rot out untreated wood.
