Installing light box in space with vent pipe

I need some help with a tricky light-box installation. There is a plumbing vent pipe in the cavity I need to put a new box in. See more details/diagram in this thread: http://homerepairforum.com/forum/top...?TOPIC_ID=2642 in the plumbing section. Thanks!

Get a Carleton 4" round old work wallcase. This has ears on it with a couple of long sheet metal screws. Change out the screws with longer ones
so the ears will work with the doubled up sheetrock.
What may work too is a fan hanger bracket and box. This is a tube with a screw in the center that screws into a stud and the other end also has a screw for the other stud. The box is fastened with a U shaped strap and nuts into a metal box.
