Bathroom exhaust fan - backdraft?

On windy days the exhaust fan in my master bath will make a clicking sound, I can't tell if it's in the fan unit itself or somewhere closer to the exit point out the roof. I'm wondering if I could keep my bathroom from waking me up in the middle of the night if I installed a new fan with a 'backdraft damper'. I know they are designed to keep the outside air from infiltrating back into the room the fan is in, but I'm wondering if it would have a spring or something on the damper that would prevent the wind from lifting it up and making that annoying clicking sound.

Thanks for the input~

P.S. I suppose this could go in the plumbing section as well, sorry if I cross-posted.

Most likely the clinking or clanking sound your hearing is the exterior vent's shutters flapping in the wind. If you install the back draft eliminating vent that will solve your problems.

unfortunately the plastic damper at the fan unit isn't spring loaded but acts on gravity to shut it. same with the damper at the exhaust head. you could try putting some fluffy fiberglass insulation into the exhaust head to keep wind flow to a minimum and yet exhaust the out flow.
