Bad Thermostat

My thermostat at home goes thru a set of double a batteries every month and a half, I don't think this is normal! In addition I seem to think the furnace cycles way to fast and too often. I am in the midwest and it is not even cold yet! T thermostat is a Honneywell Magic Stat. Is there an adjustment which can be made to control cycles and is this battery life a norm?
Would appreciat input.

Hube is an unknown quantity at this point
Welcome to the forum; The magicStat /32 or 3200 is a very good reliable programmable thermostat. ALKALINE battery's (2- AA) SHOULD be replaced with new ones EVERY YEAR ON AVERAGE.. There is a CYCLE TIME setting on this thermostat,( an easy adjustment) but we would have to know the type of furnace etc, and the cycle times that are in effect now in order to advise as to this setting. Also, is there 3 or 4 wires hooked up to this thermostat? R-Y-G-W... Please post back with info and we will advise further, Hube
