Meters

I want to know if you had two meters running on one house, how would they be wired? Because this house had two meters running two sections of the house, then they only wanted one meter. So they put it in one panel, now they want it back to two. So my next question is how do you get the power for the second meter.

a two gang meter socket is a manufactured unit. its main busses are wired in parallel with bus bars. the main line goes into a set of lugs that feeds the upper two sets of meter lugs at the top. the loads are taken seperately off the bottom two lugs for each customer. if one is not used, then a set of insulators is placed over the meter stabs and the meter is plugged back in -or- a blank glass plate is sealed over the opening by the power company.
