Mixing Light Fixtures

In may carport I have a series of Halogen Spot Lights on the same on at dark / off at 11 pm circuit. As these spotlights burn out, I would like to replace them with regular light fixtures containing either incandescent 60 watt light bulbs or the energy efficient flourescent screw in bulbs. Can I mix types of fixtures on the same circuit?

I don't see why not but consider the outside temperature. flourescent have always a problem in cold weather unless they are VHO or EHO [very high output or extremely high output]
