Priming furnace

Hello all.

I let my garage furnace run out of kerosene last night. I refilled the tank this morning and switched it back on. The blower runs, but the fuel is not getting to the pump. The guy I bought the house from gave me the old "2-second tutorial" on how the thing works. He mentioned soemthing about priming it after it runs out of fuel.

There is a bolt opposite the fuel inlet, which I removed after remembering his instructions, but no kerosene leaked out. Not sure if I'm heading in the right direction. Any thoughts? It's a pretty basic set up.

I can post a picture or two tomorrow if need be.

Thanks -Gary

Here's a diagram of the burner. The bleed port is on the oil pump. It looks just like a bleeder port used on your car's brake cylinder

Hmmm... I'll take some pics this weekend. Should be warm enough that I won't miss the furnace. Maybe I'll have some time to mess with it some more too. Thanks for the diagram. Looks pretty close.
