How to get rid of Carpenter Ants

I have a house that is made entirely of wood. Not one spec of sheet-rock in the whole house.
The wood is beautiful and it is waxed on the interior. The exterior is painted cedar.
We have a problem with carpenter ants. They seem to be just in one location near the eve. We have had the exterminators their. But the problem seems to still be their.
We see little black crumb looking stuff on the floor every now and then.
ANY BODY HAD TO DEAL WITH THEM ?

the carpenter ants use wood to create their nests. they don't digest cellulose. they need moisture to complete their life cycle. what you need to do is break any path they have to get to moisture. chlordane powder [if you still can get it] will stop them dead in their tracks. diazinon is my second choice.

Thanks Cheif ! They must be getting moisture around the chimney flashing.
I'll fix them, and fire the exterminating company.
