Covering an Ugly Basement Pole

What can I do to cover up an old, metal basement pole? I found something called the pole wrap but there does not appear to be any other options. Help!

You can paint it or box it in. I have seen many people box them in and it looks quite nice.

Well, it would take your husband or you buying a table saw, if you don't already have one. Measure the pole from floor to ceiling and around the pole. I would make each side of the box barely wider than the pole. Cut your wood and corners (the corners can be tricky for a do-it-yourselfer) .Nail each side together and sand, if desired. I would put 1/4 round at the bottom for a nice finished look. Moulding at the top too.
I hope this isn't too vague. If there is anywhere you need more details, just post your question.
