Foundation Cracks
So I'm thinking about buying a HUD home, but the inspection says there are cracks in the foundation! Is there any way to fix this without spending more than the house is worth??

Unfortunately to answer your question best we'd need to know a little more about the cracks, age of building etc...a picture would be great as well.
Cracks in the foundation can come from a few reasons and depending on the type ,location and size of the crack, various causes and repair solutions are available.

Some cracks can be quickly repaired with epoxy-injection. Simpson makes a whole line of epoxy-injection systems that should be fairly easy for the do-it-yourselfer. They are usually only for cracks up to 1/8" thick or so. See the manuf. specs.
Problem is the cracks may indicate other problems such as settlement, poor drainage, seismic damage, etc.
Have the home evaluated by an engineer or savvy contractor.
