Meta; roofs...opinions wanted

We're building a new house and our insurance agent told us that the price of our policy would be cut almost in half if we specify metal roofing. We live in hail country, so that's what makes the big difference.

I'd like to hear the pros and the cons from anyone who has or had a metal roof, before we make a decision.
