Unhappy Skylight repair

Help!
I have a flat roof with a leaky skylight. Am looking for specific directions on skylight repair and have been unable to find them. (I am a teacher and can't imagine this is beyond my capability...am I wrong?). Any suggestions?
Damp in Tucson!

is the unit itself leaking? or just the flashing? if it is the latter, you may be able to slop some vinyl roofing compound around the place where the sky-lite curbing is in relation to the roof proper - or - take up some roofing material around the sky-lite - get some wide aluminum flashing and bend it into a ninety and install on the curb and roof sheathing. at the corners you may need to cut and snip to get a piece to go around the corner in which case you'll need the roofing patch compund to water proof the corners. Then just put the roofing back down around the sky-lite curb. If there is ANY pitch to the roof, any at all, then just beef up the flashing and compound on the high side of the sky-light.

Yes, it appears to be the flashing. Thanks so much for your help. I'll
try it!
