How do you apply "Torchdown roofing material"

How do you apply torch down roofing material? I have a section that has come lose and needs to be re-stuck...any ideas. I do not want to burn the place down. It is only about 12 tp 14 inches that is loose.

If what you have is a vulcanized roof (rubber) then the best thing would be a vinyl adhesive product. The rubber has a sticky backing and is put down with a heavy roller (like they use for roll floor goods)
