Wood Rot at base of metal siding - Mobile Home

Working on an older Mobile Home (not by choice).. Has metal siding on outside wall, but the screws they used are rusting.. At the base of the siding, where the flashing is screwed on top of the skirting, some of the wood (think it is 1" x 6") has rotted away so that the flashing can't be secured. Replacing skirting (using treated wood & insulation) (Northern Canada) .. Anyone got any suggestions for a fast cheap fix.. Got to get this done fast before ground freezes!

well, look at it this way, fix it right the first time you won't be spending more money the second time. get it done and over with the first time through. use stainless steel screws throughout including the starter strip for the siding.
