shingles

Hi, is it ever too cold to install shingles (architectural)? Would cold weather lead to cracking, or the tar not adhering? Many thanks, Larry

asphalt based shingles shouldn't be installed in degree weather lower than 55. the tar sealants would never adhere properly and effects from wind would blow your hard work away. Cracking is always a possibility. Quite frankly at low temperatures I doubt you could even pull off one sheet from a square without breaking it.
