Red face Rain Gutter Nails two inches too short

Well Imagine my embarressment, when after a small wind comes up, I go outside too find the Aluminum Rain Gutter laying on the side the house,
Especially since I spent all the previous week, cleaning out the leaves,
and rehammering the 7 '' Aluminum Nails. The neighbor kid just sat on the front porch grinning.

The only solution is of course to find even bigger nails !
Spikes will do the job. Great big spikes, a carpenter moment.

Actually I tried to find some screws, yes 1/4 diameter 10 inch screws that will solve the problem,
Do you know how many hardware stores carry 1/4 diameter 10 inch screws ? none, zip, zero
they carry 1/4 diameter 6 in screws, or 5/8 diamter 7 inch screws !
but no 1/4 inch diamter 10 inch screws .

Any way I stumbled on some gutter screws, in the rain gutter department,
actually they weren't in the rain gutter deparment but on the bottom shelf of fastners department.

anyway the gutter screws worked just fine just a bit expensive.
alls well that ends well, now you can stand on the gutters.

I`m Your Handy Man

if you went online to sites that do log homes and log facades construction you'd find hex head long screws. the people that construct patios, gazebos out of logs use these things to keep everything together.
