Have you considered consulting with an interior designer? If not, you could always consult with an ASID certified designer. Other ways to get a good idea of what style you might be interested in is to look up architecture, color schemes, fabrics, and furnishings for a particular era, some of which are: Classical, Contemporary, Renaissance, Baroque, Art Deco, or a recent trend that is called New Romanticism. You can find this information in designer books, magazines, and by researching credible sources on the net.
