Need Help on finish or painting bathroom floor

I am wanting to redo a small bathroom floor. I have put sheet flooring down a couple of times now and it is a difficult room to do. I have been thinking of using a garage floor coating or faux paint finish for the floor instead now as it is very narrow and it is difficult to work around and behind the toilet. Has anyone had good success with either the coating or painting method in a room like a bath. I have also wondered about using products meant to recoat countertops also. I would like to have some sort of textured or speckled effect. I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions.
Thanks!

Have you considered transparent acryllic finishes like for automotive?
Metal flake purple or reds might be an out! Best aplied with a spray gun, I don't really know how brushed acryllic would turn out. I saw somewhere, on tv, a finish that's applied with a roller and sand or silica is scattered about making the finish skid proof and gfave a decent finish to the floor.
