leveling 100 year old floors

I'm looking at buying a home in foreclosure that was built in 1900. The house is in good shape except that the floors go up and down like a roller coaster. Is there anyway to level them without tearing up the floors and replacing the joists?[?]

those floors may have gotten wet and swelled up buckling them. when they dried they stayed in that position. the joists may have no damage to them. pop up a few boards just to see.
