Laminate floor in kitchen question

Almost 2yrs ago I covered perfectly good (5yr old) ceramic tile in the kitchen with Alloc brand laminate. My wife liked the warm feel of the laminate floor, and was tired of the ceramic. It would be next to impossible to take the ceramic out (I put it in, glued/screwed backer board on 3/4 plywood subfloor). So against my better judgement I put non-glued laminate down, and the edges raise with any little bit of moisture. My wife still loves it, but I think it looks like crap!

My question is: Is there any laminate that is more water resistant? We don't get a lot of water on it, but if something gets spilled and not seen, it raises the joints and they never go back down. Or could you seal the joints before clicking them together with somthing like a watersealer? Or should I glue even the click-type floor? I'm afraid even the glue will swell the joints. I've heard they are coming out with a plastic-based substrate laminate, but I've not seen it anywhere.

One other question: I'd love to just put hardwood in the kitchen, but I can't nail it to the ceramic obviously. Is there any hardwood that is floating?

that flooring that Bob Vila advertizes - Bellawood - might do the trick - not sure of the site "lumberliquidators dot com. (???)

You can buy laminate flooring with wax sealed on the locking system. I think this kind of laminate flooring is suitable for you since there are not too much water on the floor. Wax can do the work very well.
