Creative Use of Time is on a distinguished road

Carpeting install on landing...

How does one end the carpet on a landing area and maintain the visual of the wood trim treatment? I don't want the carpet to wrap around the stained wood floor trim. Presently the wood floor and the luan are flush, does the luan need to be removed a bit..?
