Sanding Swirls begone

Ok, I give up!! How do you get all of the sanding swirls made by a sanding edger off of the floor. We have tried buffing with an 80 grit orbital but they are still there. Any suggestions?

if you are referring to a floor refinishing sander, you go to progressively higher grit papers.
