Noisy Floors

My flooring is made up primarily of carpet and vinyl over plywood (likely 5/8) and supported by wood I-Joists. The majority of the noise is detected in areas where I do have access to the joists from a lower level. Is there anything that I can do from this lower level that will enable me to reduce the squeeky floors.

Ray

the squeak is from wood rubbing its neighbor or a nail or two has come loose. an age old fix is to "poof" some talcom between the joints. the talc acts like a lubricant and because it is so finely powdered will penetrate those pesky joints.
