Craftsman Garage Door Opener

Craftsman Garage Door Opener:
My garage door opened suddenly for no reason. I used a remote to close it. A few hours later, it opened partially, then stopped.
Again, I closed it with a remote. I went out to the garage at this point, and the wall switch would not open or close the door, only the remotes. But,now when I used the remote, the door would partially open, then close, then open fully for about 30 seconds, then fully close! My remotes are model 139.53778, and the unit is a 1/2 horse.
Any ideas as to whats going on, or how to fix it?

Jimmer is an unknown quantity at this point
zqqqqz,

Welcome to the forum.

I was hoping that someone else might be able to answer this definitively. I'll take my best guess...

Remove the wired switch and check for corrosion. With the wired switch removed does the door function properly with the remotes?

Please post back what you find.

Good luck, Jim
